Project Medicine Drop Box

Project Medicine Drop Box

The lobby of the Raritan Township Police Department houses a Project Medicine Dropbox allowing any individual to drop off unused prescription medications for timely, safe, and secure destruction.  This service is made through a cooperative effort between our department, the NJ Attorney General’s Office, and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. This effort is designed to help prevent abuse and diversion of prescription drugs. The mailbox is frequently emptied and the contents are transferred to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office where they are kept until they are destroyed in the presence of Officers at a refuse processing facility.
