Raritan Twp Police Dept Press Release: November 1, 2017

Friday, October 20, 2017 @ approximately 3:14 PM - Police arrested Darius J. Griffin, age 19 of Gibsonton, FL and De John Anthony Thomas, age 20 of Riverview, FL and charged each with multiple offenses following a motor vehicle stop on South Main Street. Griffin was initially stopped for a view obstruction. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, credit card theft and possession of fireworks. Griffin was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to exhibit documents, unsafe tires, driving with a suspended driver's license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Thomas was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, exhibiting a document which falsely purports to be a driver's license, possession of fireworks and resisting arrest. Both were turned over to the Hunterdon County Sheriff's Department to be lodged in the Somerset County Jail. Investigation and arrests by P.O. Dustin Pflug.

Thursday, October 26, 2017 @ approximately 3:19 PM - Police arrested Jeremy M. Burgos, age 18 of Raritan Township and charged him with cyber-harassment following an investigation. Police were alerted of a threatening video message that was posted on Snapchat My Story. The investigation led to Burgos who was subsequently charged. Burgos was released after processing at police headquarters. Investigation and arrest by Det. Brian Sutherland.

Friday, October 27, 2017 @ approximately 2:01 AM - Police arrested Xavier J. Rainey, age 18, and Reginald L. Polk, age 27, both of Willingboro, NJ and charged each with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 31. Rainey was initially stopped for failure to maintain lane control. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lane control and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Both were released after processing at police headquarters. Investigation and arrests by P.O. Ismael Mendez. 2

Friday, October 27, 2017 @ approximately 6:25 AM - Police arrested Michael J. Dyda, age 38 of Flemington, NJ and charged him with shoplifting from 7-11 on Rt. 202/31. Police were initially called to the store for a third party report of a shoplifting in progress, during which the male suspect was arguing with the store clerk. Investigation on scene identified Dyda as the suspect and revealed that he concealed a pack of cigarettes in his pants pocket in an attempt to leave the store without paying for them. Dyda was charged with shoplifting - value less than $200.00. He was released after processing at police headquarters. Investigation and arrest by Sgt. Robert Landolina.

Saturday, October 28, 2017 @ approximately 12:18 AM - Police arrested Charles B. Rauschert, age 54 of Stockton, NJ and charged him with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (suspected cocaine) following a motor vehicle stop on Rt. 202/31. Rauschert was initially stopped after a random license plate inquiry revealed that his driver's license was suspended. During the stop Rauschert was found to have an active traffic warrant for his arrest issued out of Raritan Township Municipal Court ($550.00 bail). He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, obstructed view, failure to wear seatbelt, failure to inspect and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Rauschert posted bail on the warrant and was released after processing. Investigation by Lt. Benedict Donaruma, Jr. and P.O. Brett Szatkowski. Arrest by P.O. Brett Szatkowski.

Sunday, October 29, 2017 @ approximately 9:39 PM - Police arrested Stephanie A. Glacken, age 41 of Milford, NJ and charged her with shoplifting from Shop-Rite on Rt. 202/31. Police were initially called to the store by a loss prevention employee who observed Glacken placing store merchandise into her purse in an attempt to leave the store without paying for the items. Glacken was charged with shoplifting - value less than $200.00. She was release after processing at police headquarters. Investigation and arrest by P.O. Eli Walters.

Tuesday, October 31, 2017 @ approximately 12:06 AM - Police arrested Chase J. Merone, age 18 of Raritan Township and Alex DiGiovanni, age 19 of Readington Township and charged each with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Leeds Road. Merone was initially stopped for having a headlight out on the vehicle that he was operating. Both were released after processing at police headquarters. A 17 year-old male passenger in the vehicle was also charged with possession / consumption of an alcoholic beverage while underage. He was released to an adult female passenger that was also in the vehicle, but not charged with anything, at the request of his mother. Investigation and arrests by Sgt. Robert Landolina.
