Raritan Twp Police Dept Press Release: November 2, 2018

Saturday, October 27, 2018 @ 5:09 PM-Police were called to the Shop-Rite in Flemington for a reported shoplifting incident. Further investigation revealed that Vanessa L. Norsworthy, age 50, of Flemington, shoplifting $48.73 worth of store merchandise. On October 31, 2018, at 0800 hrs, Norsworthy was arrested and charged with shoplifting. Investigation and arrest conducted by Ptl. Michael Podlaski.

Raritan Township Police is advising that hundreds of political signs for both Republican and Democratic candidates have been planted on front lawns of residential developments, at intersections, and along most of the township's major streets, along with signs for school board candidates who will also be elected Nov. 6. A reminder to please remove the signs after Nov 6.

IN ADDITION, "THEFT OF POLICITAL SIGNS WILL BE THROUGHLY INVESTIGATED AND PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW," CHIEF ALFRED PAYNE SAID.

THE FACT THAT A PERSON HAS BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED DOES NOT IMPLY THAT HE OR SHE IS GUILTY. ALL PERSONS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.
