Raritan Twp Police Dept Press Release: August 28, 2017

Monday, August 21, 2017 @ approximately 3:32 PM - Police arrested Shoghik Karapetyan, age 59 of Brooklyn, NY and charged her with neglect of elderly or disabled persons. P.O. Scott Phibbs was patrolling the parking lot of the Flemington Marketplace when he was flagged down by a female. The female requested assistance with a 93 year-old woman whom she located sitting in the front passenger seat of a vehicle parked in the parking lot there. The vehicle was hot, there were no keys inside of it and the driver could not immediately be located. The Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad was called to evaluate the 93 year-old woman as she had symptoms of dehydration. She was ultimately transported to Hunterdon-Medical Center by the squad. Karapetyan was located as the driver of the vehicle. Police learned that she is a home health aide and the 93 year-old woman was in her care. Karapetyan was processed at police headquarters and released with a pending court date. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 @ approximately 8:54 PM - Police arrested Brienne L. Fitzsimmons, age 31 of Califon, NJ and charged her with attempting to obtain a prescription legend drug by forgery or deception from Shop-Rite Pharmacy on Rt. 202/31. At approximately 1:17 PM police were called to the pharmacy and received a report of a suspected fraudulent prescription for Alprazolam which was received via telephone. The information was collected and the pharmacist was advised to call police if anyone came to pick up the prescription. Police were called back to the pharmacy at approximately 8:54 PM for a report that someone was there to pick up the earlier reported prescription. Police subsequently arrested and charged Fitzsimmons. She was released from police headquarters after processing. Initial investigation by P.O. Adam Swiatek. Thursday, August 24, 2017 @ approximately 7:35 PM - Police arrested Brad T. Weber, age 20 of Flemington, NJ and charged him with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana following contact with him off River Road. Police were initially checking the railroad tracks off River Road for trespassers after observing several vehicles parked there. Weber was released after processing at police headquarters. Investigation and arrest by P.O. Brett Szatkowski.
